Getting ready to Ride!

With the warmer weather I need to get my bike serviced so I can get back out on the road. I miss my long rides and the time it gives me by myself. Going out for a ride after work can help me relax as well as when I get my gym workout in.
I have been involved with the Tour de Cure for three years and I look forward to the ride, preparations for the ride, and helping on the planning committee. We can always use more help in planning, getting volunteers for the day of the event, and ambassadors for the American Diabetes Association.
We have brought back the 30 mile ride this year, the one I started out on. I never rode in a distance ride before my first Tour de Cure. My major concern was, "Will I be able to make that 30 miles"? I had been taking spinning classes at Gold's Gym in Hamburg for a time before the ride and my instructor told me if I could ride the 45 minute workout that I should be able to complete the 30 mile ride. I did and had a great time. Last year I rode in the 62 mile ride and finished it and felt great.
Ask your fellow workers to join you for the ride. Get people from your church to support you and/or join your team. Search for a team to join online.
If you have questions or concerns, call the ADA and you will find very helpful people!
